What to experience on your football trip to SS Lazio

Take in the atmosphere from the Curva Nord

Going to Stadio Olimpico to watch SS Lazio is of course the main event of your football trip. 70.000 fans will be ready to support Lazio together with you, and the Lazio fans are know for being very dedicated supporters.

You will find the most passionate Lazio fans in the north stand, called Curva Nord, which holds 19.000 fans. The Lazio ultras in the Curva Nord are world famous for the impressing choreographies that they organize when the two teams enter the pitch.

During any Lazio match you will be watching the Curva Nord as much as the game itself. There is always a constant display of banners, flags, fireworks, and chants.

Do the Stadio Olimpico Tour

No football trip to Rome is complete without doing the tour of Stadio Olimpico. The tour takes you to the museum of Stadio Olimpico, the locker room of SS Lazio, and finally to the sideline of the pitch and the VIP area of the Monte Mario stand.

Tours starts every hour during week days and every half hour during weekends. Note that the tour is closed on match days. Book your ticket for the tour at stadioolimpicotour.vivaticket.it.

Go here: Viale dei Gladiatori 2

Enjoy pre-match with SS Lazio fans

Before any Lazio game, you can enjoy the pre-match atmosphere together thousands of Lazio fans who meet up at Piazzale di Ponte Milvio (located just north of the Stadio Olimpico). The square is full of bars and restaurants.

On weekends, it is also an area where young romans go out and have fun. Give yourself the best matchday experience by starting the day in this area.

The area is named after the nearby bridge, Ponte Milvio.

Honor the founders of SS Lazio at Piazza della Libertà

On the 9th of January 1900, Lazio was founded at Piazza della Libertà in the roman neighbourhood Prati. If you pass by the square today, you can find a plaque that celebrates this foundation.

Every year on the evenings of the 8th and 9th of January, Lazio fans from all over the city gather on this square to celebrate the birthday of their club. It is a marvelous spectacle with many organized events for children, families and Lazio fans in general.

Shop in a Lazio Fan Shop

Rome is full of stores that sell official Lazio merchandise. The Lazio Fan Shop in the Prati neighbourhood, very close to the Vatican, is small but very well decorated with pictures and Lazio memorabilia dating back years. This is one of the best places to go if you want to shop some Lazio accessories.

A lot of vendors will also be selling Lazio merchandise in front of the stadium on match days, giving you unlimited possibilities of buying a scarf, a cap, or a shirt. Just note that the merchandise sold outside the official stores is not guaranteed to be original.

"The next football trip will also be with Groundhopping Tours"

"The Netherlands, Scotland and Germany are so far the countries I have visited with Groundhopping Tours.

All trips have been absolutely fantastic, and there have been both top matches on the program and matches right down in the lower ranks.

I can only recommend Groundhopping Tours - so they will also plan my next football trip."

"A very good experience"

"A very good experience with Groundhopping Tours, from pre-booking inquiry over booking and info before departure to arrival at the hotel and the entire setup in Dortmund (where we saw Dortmund vs Gladbach) with stadium tour on Friday, match on Saturday and generally just good recommendations for the trip.

Groundhopping Tours gets my absolute warmest recommendation."

"Good experience for Boca Juniors match"

"We were in Buenos Aires on holiday and bought tickets through Groundhopping Tours for Boca Juniors' home game.

Everything about the match worked perfectly with the local guide, so there was no reason for insecurity or confusion about the slightly complicated access procedure.

Things are under control when you buy tickets here - even if it's on the other side of the globe."
